- 2-mile out and back trail
- pick your distance
- free public parking
- starts at Kapalua Bay Beach and ends at Ironwood Beach
- sidewalk to gravel to boardwalk

- Great Maui hike for photos
- Trail goes through a seabird sanctuary and lava field
- Tip: go early for parking and to avoid the tradewinds in the afternoon
- Public restrooms available
#2 'Iao Valley State Monument
-- 0.6-mile walk
- $5 for parking
- restrooms, ample parking, paved paths
- stairs to the observation point
#2 'Iao Valley State Monument
- Main attraction is the 1200' 'Iao Valley Needle (phallic stone of the Hawaiian god of the ocean)
- See waterfalls and swim in the river
- The valley is rich in Hawaiian history
- Explore the trails around the river for more jungle fun
#3 Waihou Spring Trail
- 2-mile loop trail with a side trail to the spring
- relatively flat but a 600-ft trail to the springs
- Lots of shade and a cool climate as walking at 4,000 ft in upcountry

- Ample parking at the trailhead (free)
- Compacted, needle-floor trail
- Hike the loop for Monterey, Cypress, Eucalyptus, ‘Ala’a, Halapepe, and Koa
- Opt for the waterfall (mossy wall) and old irrigation channels cut into the wall.
