Set out on new fishing adventures on the prolific Hawaii waters with Kona Cowboy Sport Fishing at the helm! Captain Shawn Slattery runs his charters from the Big Island of Hawaii, the Blue Marlin capital of the world, where the ocean is deep and game fish are abundant.
Whether you’re a novice or pro, you’re going to have a memorable time with this friendly and experienced crew that works very hard to put you on the fish. Whether it’s dinner you’re after or a trophy Blue Marlin, Capt. Shawn will make it happen!
You’ll be fishing with Captain Shawn Slattery and his crew from a Bertram (Flybridge) sport fisher originally built in 1977 and fully restored in 2019. Powered by two 350HP Cummings engines and a maximum cruising speed of 25 knots, she’s got plenty of get-up-and-go!
Not only will you be comfortable on their vessel, but she’s equipped with the latest in electronics gear and safety equipment.
If you are craving more time on the water during your trip, you can ask to extend the charter. They most likely can but depends on other bookings. It doesn’t hurt to ask! But if you want more (or less) time on the water, here are their other charters:

What happens if you have to cancel?
Captain Shawn understands that things happen! So, in the event that you need to cancel your fishing charter with us, Kona Cowboy Sport Fishing only asks that you provide them with 24 hours’ notice of cancellation and they provide a full refund.
Can you bring alcohol on the fishing charter?
Yes. They even supply an iced-down cooler to keep your drinks chilly!
They just ask that you drink responsibly and leave the glass containers at home.
What if it rains or there is bad weather?
They fish rain or shine, however, they want everyone to be safe.
In the event that your Captain chooses to call off your fishing charter due to poor weather or other conditions which might make your trip unsafe, they’ll do their best to reschedule your charter.
If for travel or other reasons you are unable to reschedule, they’ll provide a 100% refund for any amounts previously paid.

Are you allowed to keep what you catch?
Yes, you get to keep what you catch, but anything over 50 lbs. usually goes to the boat. Captains discretion.
