Hawai'i is open
But there are some details to know.
Starting October 15th you can avoid the 14-day quarantine if you obtain a negative COVID test.
The test needs to be administered by a trusted travel partner and completed no more than 72 hours from the departure time of the last leg of your flight.
Test costs range from $90 - $200. Keiki under 5 don’t need to take the test.
Airlines are helping
United and American airlines offer rapid testing at the airport. Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines have contracts with trusted testing partners.
24 hours before arrival you’ll need to fill out a Safe Travel’s Hawaii Application Form
Results of your negative COVID test need to be uploaded to your Safe Travel’s account
If you don’t receive your test results back before arriving in Hawaii, you’ll need to quarantine until you receive and submit your negative result
Traveling inter-island?
You’ll need to follow the same pre-travel testing before you fly to Kauai or Maui. The Big Island isn't currently participating in inter-island travel.
Remember that this program may have some kinks to work out. Let’s all come with positive attitudes and patience and remember how truly lucky we are to visit these islands.
