For those cruises that depart from Honolulu, we recommend arriving two or more days before the start of your cruise. Some of the itinerary days can be done via walking, some will require a few taxi rides, and some are best with a rental car. We tell you which mode of transportation is best.

When you’re planning your day(s) on the island, you can use this guide in three ways:

  1. Pick one of our self-guided excursion days to explore the island with or without a rental car. These perfectly planned itineraries take you to the best parts of the island, either near the dock or off to a beautiful island area.
  2. Select a guided tour or activity from our Favorite Shore Excursions. Choose from our list of preferred tour operators to have them do the driving, talk story, and show you the island. Booking directly with these local companies that have tours for cruise passengers’ schedules is a great option.
  3. Customize your own day on the island using our Quick Hits section. Here you’ll find our favorite beaches, snorkel spots (including safety tips), and restaurants by island. The maps will help you determine how much you can do before you have to return to the ship.

Honestly, now. Unlike a guidebook, we publish regular updates. With so many things changing, we want to give you the most up-to-date information to have a great trip. These itineraries are reviewed and updated two times per year. Once you purchase this bundle, you’ll have access to the itinerary and cruise guide and all updates for the next 11 months.

This is a digital product. Minutes after purchasing, a link to download the itinerary and cruise guide will be sent to your email. You can print it, but we suggest downloading it to your computer and your phone. There are a number of hyperlinks in the itinerary to link you to directions, restaurant websites, and activity operators. So it’s much easier to use it digitally!

You will receive two downloadable files to your email address to save to your computer or mobile device. We include instructions on how to save them to your Android or Apple iPhone.

Unfortunately, we do not. We provide multiple self-guided excursion days for each dock, so you can choose the one that is best for your group.
