If you’re looking for a good condo with a great value in south Maui, the Kihei Ali’i Kai delivers. Just a short walk from the beach (Kam I or Kam II), you’ll find a no frills complex that still has everything you need for a great vacation.

Centrally located in Kihei, you are a block to the beach. The condo is located in between Kamaole Beach 1 & 2. You’re also just a short walk away from restaurants like Coconuts Beach Cafe and Southshore Grindz. This is an easy spot to walk around to so much of what you need. 

Pool

There is one large pool and hot tub on site. In addition, you’ll find gas grills and a sauna. 

Unit sizes 

At the Kihei Ali’i Kai you’ll find one and two bedroom units, which can sleep up to 6 people. Each unit comes with it’s own private lanai — you can even get a nice ocean view from some! The units are spread out over four different buildings.

Kihei Ali’i Kai Review: why we love it

• Great value: If you’re searching for a good value stay, this is a great option. Some of the units could use updating, but that need for updating is reflected in the price. If you’re not worried about luxury amenities or having the most up to date condo, you can find good prices here!
• Location: This complex is walkable to so many things, which is really nice. Rental cars on Maui are a must so you can see all of the best sights, but having a condo where you can walk to breakfast, coffee, or the beach is such a perk. 

Things to Know Before Booking Kihei Ali’i Kai

• Rental fees: All accommodations in Hawaii can come with some (rather large) fees. Whether you’re in a hotel paying resort fees or you’re getting a vacation rental and paying service fees, factor these into your equation. We usually go with VRBO because we’ve found that these fees are usually lower than what you’ll find on other similar platforms. 
• No unit consistency: all of these vacation rentals are individually owned, so there’s a lack of consistency. Some have excellent views and others come with a less impressive view or fewer helpful in-unit amenities. Reading reviews of individual units can always give you a better sense of what to expect before booking. 
• Not accessible: If you aren’t able to climb stairs, staying here is challenging. 
• Quiet pool: While there is a pool on site, if you have young children they might not enjoy it. Toys, floaties, etc are not welcome in the pool.

Book straight from an owner: You can book the Kihei Ali’i Kai on VRBO, where you can read reviews for the exact unit you’re interested in. 

Book through Marriott: Some of the units are listed by Marriott Homes & Villas. While you can’t read reviews, there is a level of trust when booking through a Marriott brand. And you can earn and book using Marriott Bonvoy points! The units they have available are:
