About the Napali Coast Rafting and Snorkel Adventure

Get up close and personal to the majestic Napali Coast on their custom-built rafts while you explore sea caves, lava tunnels, waterfalls, and hidden beaches. To top off the experience, they will stop for a brief snorkel session at a tropical reef for a view of the underwater world below.

Their custom-built, rigid-hull inflatables (RHIBs) were designed for getting you to the Napali Coast in record time from Hanalei. RHIBs may look like a typical raft, but they don’t act like one! Their vessels have some notable amenities that set them apart from the rest, including powerful (225hp!) twin outboard motors, bench seating that faces forward (so you’re not sitting sideways all day, craning your neck), a marine head (bathroom), and sunshade (while parked).

Adventurer II and Adventurer III launched in 2012 and 2013 and have spent their summers taking people on boat tour adventures, right out of Kauai’s beloved Hanalei Bay. This Napali Adventure & Snorkel is a fantastic boat tour for people staying on the north shore of Kauai, or for anyone that wants to get up-close and personal to the Napali Coast.

This Napali Coast boat tour begins at the iconic Tahiti Nui Restaurant in the heart of Hanalei town. There, you will greet their friendly staff, grab your gear (they will provide dry bags for your items), and shuttle you to the world-famous Hanalei Bay. Their shuttle catamaran, Holo Moku (another one of their custom-built vessels) will meet you on the shores of Black Pot Beach Park, to take you down the Hanalei River and into the bay past the Hanalei Pier. They’ll tie up to the tour vessel for a dry transfer as you step aboard, stow your gear, and grab a seat.

After a short briefing from your Captain, you hit the coast and start peeling your eyes for wildlife such spinner dolphins, turtles, sea birds, and maybe even goats along the cliffs! It’s also not at all uncommon to see hikers, braving the notoriously brutal Kalalau Trail.

The Kauai-built RHIBs are excellent vessels for Napali boat tours because they’re quick and nimble and the perfect size to explore all the nooks and crannies of the coast. They allow them to get under the waterfalls and into caves (ocean and weather permitting), like the incredible Open Ceiling Cave.

Sit back and enjoy the stories about the history and legends of the coast, facts about wildlife, and how this beautiful island was created.

Using his or her discretion, and depending on ocean conditions, your captain will choose an area to stop and snorkel for around 40 minutes. They provide fins, goggles, and snorkels in every shape and size and will offer flotation devices (pool noodles) for those who need a little extra support in the water. Your safety is their number one priority.

If you don’t feel like snorkeling, just kick back on the boat and soak in all the gloriousness of the Napali Coast! If you need a break from the sun, they’ve got a nice shade canopy they’ll roll out over part of the vessel.

The snorkel spot is usually their lunch spot too. They have fresh deli-style sandwiches, chips, island juices, and a Kauai Kookie to enjoy for lunch. Once all on board and fed, you will turn it around to soak up all those “salty hair, don’t care” vibes on your way back to beautiful Hanalei Bay, where you can carry the magic with you, into the afternoon, on Kauai’s unbelievable north shore.

Your Napali Rafting Tour Includes

  • Napali Coast, with a dramatic departure from Hanalei Bay
  • Delicious sandwich lunch
  • All snorkeling equipment and instruction
  • You can often see dolphins, sea turtles, and tons of tropical fish on this tour.
