About Group Surf Lessons
Group surf lessons are ideal for visitors who prefer to learn to surf in a team setting. 99.9% of our surfers stand up in their first lesson. A group lesson with 3 or more students is available for 1 or 2 hours. Student to instructor ratio is a minimum of 4:1. Great for friends and individuals. Their instructors are helpful and make the experience enjoyable for the whole group.

North Shore Surf Girls love teaching surfing! Their goal is to get you to love surfing as much as they do.
Lessons focus on safety and basic surfing techniques geared towards helping surfers at all levels, including beginners who’ve never tried surfing before. You’ll learn to improve your skills and feel confident on the waves.
About Private and Semi-Private Surf Lessons
Private and semi private surf lessons are for those who want exclusive attention from an experienced instructor. Lessons are 1 or 2 hours with a maximum of 2 students with 1 dedicated instructor. Great for friends or couples

Semi-Private students are partnered with other students in small groups.
Private lessons are one-on-one!
What is Included in Your Surf Lesson
- Surfboards, surf shirts/rash guards
- Wetsuits & life jackets are available as needed
- 3 or more students can take part in group lessons, 2 or fewer for semi-private or private
Souvenir photos will be available for sale so you can show your friends that you know how to surf.
What to Bring for Your Surf Lesson
- Swimsuit or Surf Shorts
- Reef Safe Sunscreen (sunscreen must not have oxybenzone and octinoxate)
North Shore Surfing Locations for Your Lesson
They choose the best break based on the weather that day. Check your booking confirmation page or follow-up email for details on where to meet for your surf lesson. Information below is their normal surf locations based on the season.
- Winter Surf Location: Kahalewai Place, Kahalewai Pl, Haleiwa, HI 96712
- Summer Surf Location: Chun’s Reef, which is located 3 miles 61-507 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleiwa, Hi 96712
