Join O’ahu’s most experienced tour company on an exciting Waimea Waterfall and Circle Island Adventure that will satisfy your senses and provide exceptional photo opportunities. Our journey begins at the Amelia Earhart Monument that overlooks the Pacific Ocean from the slopes of the world-famous Diamond Head Crater, a 100,000-year-old extinct volcanic crater — overlooking the Pacific Ocean. From here we travel up the spectacular southeast shore of O’ahu to experience the stunning natural scenery, white sands, snorkeling sites, turquoise waters, and volcanic cliffs and shorelines of popular sites including Hanauma Bay, Halona Blowhole, From Here to Eternity Beach, Sandy Beach, and Makapu’u Lookout. Driving up the eastern side of the island, step into the peaceful Valley of the Temples and marvel at the Byodo-In Temple nestled under the lush Ko’olau Mountains. View the incredible offshore islet of Chinaman’s Hat in Kane’ohe Bay and visit Malaekahana Bay, a favorite site of O’ahu residents for beach-going.
We will stop at Pounders Restaurant for a run-of-the-menu meal or at the local shrimp trucks for a shrimp plate lunch (9 varieties of shrimp, or vegetarian, burger, or chicken options) and shave ice for dessert. After lunch, walk on the sands of Sunset Beach, a major big-wave surf competition site in the winter months and peaceful sandy beach in the summer. Next, we will drive to Waimea Valley, an ancient valley filled with over 5,000 unique species of tropical flowering plants and ancient Hawaiian cultural sites. A short hike (1.5 miles round-trip) on a paved road will take you to the enchanting Waimea Waterfall, one of the most scenic on the island. Our final stop is at the historic Dole Pineapple Plantation, where you can taste pineapple treats and view colorful varieties from around the world.
About Hawaii Tours
Erica and I are very much DIY Hawaii travel people but sometimes a guided tour is the best and easiest way to experience the islands. A guided tour supports local tour guides, reduces the number of cars on the roads, and they can take care of permits and reservations that are hard to acquire. We have developed a relationship with one of the owners of Hawaii Tours, Daniel Logtenberg, and trust him with our Hawaii vacation planning.
Here is what Dan has to say about his company and tours:
We’ve been offering high-quality cultural and sightseeing tours throughout the Hawaiian islands for 20+ years – and we love what we do! So expect to be greeted with a friendly “Aloha” when you contact us by phone or when we pick you up at your hotel. Also, we’ll always do our very best to make your Hawaiʻi dream vacation a reality because we know you have worked hard, and your holiday time is important. You see, it’s not just our pleasure; it’s our honor to be of service to our guests.
We take great pride in showing you the natural, historical, and cultural splendors of our beautiful tropical paradise. Hawaiʻi has a special place in our hearts, which is why respecting and caring for these precious islands is of utmost importance to us. We care for the land or “Malama the aina” by showing you the best of Hawaiʻi so that you can fall in love with this incredible destination too… just as we did so many years ago.
