Hawaiian Waikiki Catamaran Sail Details

Kamoauli hosts 4 sailing tours per day, morning, two in the afternoon, and a sunset sail, in addition to offering private group sails and a private custom charter experience. All of their tours provide an enriching educational experience hosted through an indigenous perspective to honor Hawaii’s culture, history, land, and waters.

We saw whales (December – March), Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, and learned more about Hawaiian culture, food preparation, and stories then we have ever learned before on a tour!

Their tours vary only slightly throughout the day, with the main difference being departure time. Kamoauli is the name of both their company and their vessel, which was designed and rebuilt in 2017 specifically for the purpose of sharing mo’olelo, the stories of Native Hawaiians. The allure of sailing with Kamoauli is their unique vessel, their support for the community, and the passion every crew member has for their mission.

All tours are small groups of up to 6 guests, you can book a group spot, meaning you’ll be sailing with other parties, or you can book a private sail at a flat rate for up to 6 guests from only your party.

We found this tour more entertaining and informative than a luau. We pounded taro, danced a little hula, and practiced a Hawaiian greeting. Our kids got involved and loved every minute of it!

Authentic Double-Hulled Canoe Experience

We were blown away by the Hawaiian experience this tour provided. The tour was recommended by a newsletter reader and I’m so glad they told us about it! The whole family enjoyed hearing the Hawaiian stories, history, and ukulele music with singing. Watch our experience below to see if this is the right Polynesian sailing canoe for you!

About Kamoauli

Kamoauli started out as scribbles on a napkin in the center of three friends, and in 2017 turned into the 100 day rebuild of the H.M. Salote where the entire community volunteered their time to make their vision a reality. With a strong foundation of community, they invest in community land projects, and subsidize educational opportunities to schools so their culture, history, and appreciation of the land can be part of a wider educational experience.

We are affiliate partners with Kamoauli which means we receive a small commission for each completed booking made through this site. This is done without any additional cost to you. You can read more about our affiliate policies here. Know that we only recommend tour operators that we know and trust. Your positive experience and your trust in us mean more than any affiliate commission. By booking tours through our website you help us to provide free information and videos to help you and other readers plan their perfect Hawaii vacation. Thank you so much for your support — you are amazing!
