Waikoloa Snorkeling Tour Details
If you’re staying in Waikoloa, the location really doesn’t get better than this! With beach loading straight from A Bay you probably won’t be more than 15 minutes away from this snorkel tour. The Waikoloa Beach Marriott is a stone’s throw away, and some of our other favorite Waikoloa lodging is just a short drive, the Waikoloa Beach Villas are even within walking distance. Be sure to also check out the Mauna Lani, the Shores at Waikoloa, and the Colony Villas.
Once you’ve loaded, this 3 hour tour will take you to some great snorkeling spots and treat you to lunch and drinks on their comfortable 54′ catamaran. Up to 49 passengers are welcomed on this tour, so it is a larger group, but there is plenty of seating, shade, and even on board bathrooms and freshwater showers.
Our only gripe with this tour is that it’s a bit confusing for guests to understand what’s provided by way of snorkel gear. They encourage guests to bring their own gear, with the exception of fins and vests, but they do have snorkels and masks available though they refer to these as backups.
If you want to err on the side of caution, snorkel rentals are available at the beach. This is less convenient than most snorkel tours in Hawaii, but it’s certainly not a dealbreaker if you come prepared. You’ll also want to bring a towel and reef-safe sunscreen with you.
On your way to and from the snorkel sites, keep your eyes open for honu (Hawaiian green sea turtles), spinner dolphins, and even humpback whales during their migration (December to March).

What if I get seasick
If you’re prone to sea or motion sickness, be sure to take the appropriate medication as directed prior to your tour. Catamarans tend to be pretty comfortable vessels, but if you’re in Hawaii during the winter, you may experience rougher seas, so it’s better to be safe than sick!
