Beachcomber by Outrigger: our favorite value hotel in Waikiki

In a nutshell: Located among the famous shopping and dining centers (and a block from Waikiki Beach), Beachcomber gives you a modern Waikiki experience, without the beachside resort prices.

If you want to be immersed in the bustle of Waikiki, and are not opposed to a (very) short walk to the beach, Beachcomber by Outrigger is a great choice. Located among the high end shopping and dining Waikiki is known for, and across the street from its beachside sister location, you’ll have easy access to all the makings of a great Honolulu vacation, with a steep discount from the price tags of neighboring resorts.

Beachcomber is central to all of Waikiki’s famous shops and restaurants. You may not be on the beach, but you are also only a block away.

• Maui Brewing Company, one of our absolute favorite places to eat, drink, and not break the bank is located in the Beachcomber, as is Macy’s Department Store
• Balcony off every room (though views can be obstructed by Honolulu’s highrises)

Things to Know Before Booking Beachcomber by Outrigger

• Beachcomber by Outrigger is NOT Outrigger Waikiki. The latter is beachfront and charges accordingly.
• Decor is clean and updated, but not very festive
• Beachcomber is streetside, in the heart of Waikiki. Noise can be an issue for certain rooms, especially in the evenings.
• Resort and parking fees: Unfortunately, high resort and parking fees are par for the course in Hawaii. Like many resorts, Beachcomber by Outrigger charges both a daily resort fee and a daily parking fee, which is not included in the room rate. This can be sticker shock if you’re not expecting it.
