Activity Overview
On most of our Waikiki sunset evenings, we are stuck on the beach looking out at the Star of Honolulu on the horizon. The iconic Honolulu sunset dinner cruise is the place to be for a relaxing night filled with live entertainment and a multi-course meal. No matter your age or your mobility, this is the cruise to add to your itinerary.
Although the cruise runs daily, on Fridays, enjoy an hour longer cruise in order to see the Friday fireworks display at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Note: this is the most popular night to sell out, so book well in advance.
Highlights of the Star of Honolulu
- Special night out on the water on a grand 4-deck cruise ship

- Multi-course dinner cooked onboard, including lobster and steak, along with plentiful drinks
- Fireworks show on Fridays
- Private rooms/events available for larger groups and special occasions

Why We Recommend This Tour
Our Best Tours directory is full of small group tours. An intimate small group is ideal for a guided tour. But for a sunset dinner cruise, the comfort of a large ship is best. If you have little ones in your party or you have mobility issues, this ship is ideal for you. We do our best to support those who need a handicap accessible Hawaii.
- Easy dry harbor boarding, versus getting wet and sandy boarding from Waikiki Beach
- The large vessel, which includes 3 types of stabilizers, is much more stable than smaller boats or catamarans, which is important if you are prone to seasickness, especially during the winter months when water conditions can be more variable
- Multiple packages to choose from for different preferences and budgets
- Chef-prepared multi-course dinner and drinks served to your table
- Hawaiian cultural entertainment (mostly for the Deluxe package) — great sampler of traditional Hawaiian dance and music
- Hawaii’s only ADA-compliant vessel with two elevators
For a more adventurous sunset cruise, check out this Waikiki Beach Loading Sunset Cruise and Sail. We also have a private sunset cruise recommendation. These two Honolulu sunset cruises are on smaller vessels.
