Quick Overview
In a nutshell: Condos with a resort feel and outstanding customer service.
Overview of the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower
This is where a hotel meets condo living. Full kitchens, washers and dryers, and 1 and 2-bedroom layouts give you everything you could want from a homey vacation rental, while resort amenities keep you in vacation mode for your whole stay. This Waikiki condo hotel was designed with families in mind, ensuring that resort fee you’ll inevitably end up paying actually goes to good use.
The Aston Waikiki Beach Tower Key Facts
The Aston Waikiki Beach Tower Location:
Waikiki is a neighborhood in the greater Honolulu area, so it’s not terribly large, but it is concentrated. This is good news for the walkability of any Waikiki lodging. The Aston Waikiki Beach Tower is just a few minutes’ walk from the International Marketplace in one direction and the Honolulu Zoo in the other. It’s 2 miles from the Diamond Head Lookout and a 30 minute drive from the Honolulu airport.
The Aston Waikiki Beach Tower Pool:
There are 2 pools and a hot tub open 8am-9pm. Their main pool is on the 4th floor with fantastic views. They also have a designated children’s pool (which is temporarily closed for repairs as of June 2023).
The Aston Waikiki Beach Tower Unit Sizes:
This hotel is made up of 1- and 2-bedroom condos from 880-1,200 square feet. Each unit has air conditioning, in-unit laundry, a full kitchen, and a private lanai.
The Aston Waikiki Beach Tower Review: why we love it
- All have ocean views: if an ocean view room is a dealbreaker for your trip, this is the place to be. You don’t have to worry about ending up with heavily obstructed views because you’ll have floor to ceiling windows maximizing visibility.
- Parking is included in the resort fees and is valet (so be ready to tip). Typically resort parking is a separate nightly charge in the $30-$50 range, so this is actually quite a perk. Valet parking for one car per suite is complimentary.
- Customer service: excellent customer service can be hard to find, but this hotel has overwhelmingly positive feedback for the staff, always raving about the quick and enthusiastically friendly service.
- Location: while these accommodations are not beach front, they are directly across the street from Waikiki Beach making beach days easy. Plus while there isn’t any on-site dining, you really can’t go wrong with any Waikiki accommodations because you’re always walking distance from phenomenal food.
Things to Know Before Booking The Aston Waikiki Beach Tower
- Accessibility: all of the common areas are accessible, but the units are individually owned so in-room accessibility features are not guaranteed.
- Rental fees: all accommodations in Hawaii can come with some (rather large) fees. Whether you’re in a hotel paying resort fees or you’re getting a vacation rental and paying service fees, factor these into your equation. We usually go with VRBO because we’ve found that these fees are usually lower than what you’ll find on other similar platforms.
- Resort fees: Since the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower is a condo/resort combo, in addition to rental fees you may pay through sites like VRBO, there is a $45/night (June 2023) amenities fee which is not included in the room rate and is paid directly to the hotel. This can be sticker shock if you’re not expecting it.
- No unit consistency: all of these vacation rentals are individually owned, so there’s a lack of consistency. Some have excellent views and others come with a less impressive view or fewer helpful in-unit amenities. Reading reviews of individual units can always give you a better sense of what to expect before booking.

My husband and I purchased your itineraries for our recent trip to Kauai and Oahu. We found them super helpful, and your recommendations were spot-on. We had a wonderful time, and we didn’t regret a minute of how we spent our time there thanks to your guidance. I really appreciate the effort you put into these and if we ever manage to get back to Hawaii (we loved eating/drinking our way through Honolulu and I hear Maui is absolutely beautiful….), I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase additional itineraries.
