Kapalua Golf Villas: spectacular views and a better price

Overview of the Kapalua Golf Villas

The Kapalua Golf Villas are on the northwest side of Maui, one of our favorite places on the island. It is perfectly situated between two championship golf courses with some fantastic views. While it isn’t beach front, it is a short distance from Kapalua Bay, DT Flemming Beach, and Napili Bay. It is also close to several restaurants including those in The Ritz Carlton just .5 mile away. You’ll be graced with a quieter vibe than some of the surrounding areas, ocean views, and hilly landscapes. It may be a golfer’s paradise, but it’s also a great spot for your whole group.

It’s also a better priced option in Kapalua, which has some of the most expensive accommodations on the island.

The Kapalua Golf Villas Location:

This vacation rental is on one of our favorite parts of the island. It is about an hour from the airport and 15 minutes from Ka’anapali. They have a free shuttle service to anywhere in the Kapalua Bay Resort area and you’re a 15-20 minute walk from Kapalua Bay, my favorite beach on the island. We love the northwest part of the island, but you do need to be cautious in the winter as this area will get more rain and can have some pretty nasty north swells, making for unsafe ocean conditions.

There are 4 pool on site, so you won’t be far from swimming no matter what unit you choose.

The Kapalua Golf Villas offers 1, 2, and 3-bedroom units, most with 2 bathrooms. They all have washers/dryers and dishwashers and most also have A/C.

The Kapalua Golf Villas Review: why we love it

• Location: We love Kapalua, there is so much to do and it’s home to my favorite beach on the entire island. The Golf Villas are a little bit removed from the action, but it has a nice quiet vibe set in a hilly landscape.
• Activities: This is a golfer’s paradise, if the name didn’t already give it away, these villas are nestled between two championship golf courses. You’re also a short walk away from Kapalua Ziplines where I conquered their 4-line course and I didn’t want it to end!
• Views: These units have spectacular views. Of course, this differs unit-to-unit, but whether it is from your lanai or around the property, the views around this property are phenomenal.

Things to Know Before Booking The Kapalua Golf Villas

• Not ADA accessible: There is no elevator for upper level units and the units do not have accessibility features.
• Rental fees: All accommodations in Hawaii can come with some (rather large) fees. Whether you’re in a hotel paying resort fees or you’re getting a vacation rental and paying service fees, factor these into your equation. We usually go with VRBO because we’ve found that these fees are usually lower than what you’ll find on other similar platforms. 
• No unit consistency: all of these vacation rentals are individually owned, so there’s a lack of consistency. Some have excellent views and others come with a less impressive view or fewer helpful in-unit amenities. Some are extremely dated and haven’t received the TLC they need. Reading reviews of individual units can always give you a better sense of what to expect before booking.
