Quick Overview
In a nutshell: Wonderful vacation rentals on the famous North Shore of O’ahu.
Overview of the Kuilima Estates
Kuilima Estates is a condo complex of vacation rentals settled right on the Arnold Palmer and George Fazio Golf Courses in Turtle Bay. It is divided into East and West Estates for the respective sides of Kuilima Drive, but you can find a great rental on either side of the road, so check them both out! You’ll be a short walk from Turtle Bay Resort and beach and you can take advantage of all the paid amenities that are offered at the resort. While the resort’s pool is for guests only, Kuilima Estates does have its own pools plus tennis courts, barbecues, and several in unit amenities like washer/dryer and air conditioning in the majority of the units. Golf lovers will be star-struck and the rest of the family will have plenty to keep them occupied.
The Kuilima Estates Key Facts
The Kuilima Estates Location:
Just a few minutes’ walk from Turtle Bay Resort, the east and west sides of the estates are settled on either side of Kuilima Drive on the famous north shore of O’ahu. The Kuilima Estates East and West are located about an hour from Waikiki.
The Kuilima Estates Pool:
The Kuilima Estates has 3 of its own pools located throughout the east and west properties. 2 of the pools are on the west side and 1 on the east side.
The Kuilima Estates Review: why we love it
- Golfing: while we aren’t avid golfers, this property offers huge perks for those who are with two championship courses just outside your door.
- Proximity to great snorkel spots. 2 North Shore spots made it on our list of the 5 Best Snorkeling Spots on Oahu.
- All the benefits of the North Shore: the surfing, the hiking, the countryside, this is why you’re choosing the North Shore of O’ahu and it’s all right here. You’re minutes from the only resort on this side of the island, and a short drive from any countryside-exclusive activities you could want.
- Legal units: We would never recommend anything that toes a line of safety or legality, that’s a given. This is still worth noting if you’ve done your homework on the North Shore of O’ahu as there are specific ordinances about vacation rentals outside of resort areas. Kuilima Estates is part of the Turtle Bay Resort with all their ducks in a row, so rest easy knowing these are vacation rentals you can trust.
Things to Know Before Booking The Kuilima Estates
- Rental fees: All accommodations in Hawaii can come with some (rather large) fees. Whether you’re in a hotel paying resort fees or you’re getting a vacation rental and paying service fees, factor these into your equation. We usually go with VRBO because we’ve found that these fees are usually lower than what you’ll find on other similar platforms.
- No unit consistency: all of these vacation rentals are individually owned, so there’s a lack of consistency. Some have excellent views and others come with a less impressive view or fewer helpful in-unit amenities. Reading reviews of individual units can always give you a better sense of what to expect before booking.
- Not beachfront: The condos are not beachfront, so expect to have a 10-15 minute walk to Kuilima Cove for beach time.
