Haleakala and Iao Valley Tour Details
See both of Maui’s volcanoes in one efficient day! This tour includes 3 short hikes, giving you opportunities to stretch your legs and get some incredible views.
Start your day by going up 10,000 feet to the summit of Haleakala (without the 3 AM wake-up call). You’ll get a chance to explore the Haleakala Visitor Center, which has fascinating exhibits and information about the volcano. From there, you’ll head on a few walks for stunning views. On a clear day, you’ll even be able to see the Big Island from Haleakala!
Lunch for the day comes from a Kahului food truck park, giving you choice and flexibility for everyone in your group. Lunch is not included in the tour price, but we love a Maui food truck, so you won’t be disappointed.
Next, you’ll make your way to Iao Valley to view the iconic 1,200-foot natural basalt landmark, known as the Iao Needle. When you consider its height from sea level, it’s over 2,200 feet tall.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
Yes! This tour does focus on several short hikes, but much of these trails are paved, and since this is a private tour, hikes can be adjusted accordingly. Holo Holo Maui Tours has a Honda Odyssey, which can accommodate folks with wheelchairs. Be sure to note it in the booking and give them a call to make sure you get the correct vehicle to fit your needs.
